Scope of delivery

The encalife Ambience is delivered in a rather simple, printed cardboard box. The packaging mainly contains information about the projector’s various uses.

In turn, the packaging contained the following things:

• the galaxy and star projector,
• a remote control,
• a mini-USB cable,
• an instruction manual.

This basically includes everything you need to use the Galaxy Projector. Only a power adapter is not included. However, you can also use a power adapter from your cell phone or similar to connect it to a power outlet. Alternatively, power banks, laptops, or computers can also be used as a power source.

If you want to use the remote control, you will also need 2 AAA batteries. These are also not included in the scope of delivery.

Start-up

The commissioning of the encalife Ambience is very simple. All that is required is the following steps:

1. Insert the 2 AAA batteries into the remote control.
2. Connect the projector to a power source using the USB cable.
3. Turn on the projector on the back panel.
4. Set the desired mode (using the remote control).

I was able to set up the projector in just 2-3 minutes. If you also want to use the integrated speaker, for example, you also need to connect your phone via Bluetooth. This is also done in a short time.

I will show you how the connection works and other settings in the next section.

Functionality

The range of functions is probably the most important thing in such a projector. The encalife Ambience Galaxy & Star Projector allows you to set 21 different color modes. These are generated by an LED light as well as a green laser. The color of the LED can be selected between red, green, blue, and white. Likewise, the different colors can be mixed.

In addition, the LED as well as the laser can be switched on and off separately from each other. This results in even more combination possibilities.

There are also various preset modes. In these, the different colors are switched on alternately from each other.

The brightness can also be adjusted over several levels. This means that the projector can always be adapted to the right situation.

The projection can also be moved if necessary. The strength of the movement can be regulated in stages. At the higher levels, however, it bothered me that the motor in the projector makes very strong noises. So you shouldn’t necessarily turn on the movement if you want to use the projector to fall asleep or relax.

However, the included remote control is needed to use all the mentioned functions. The setting options directly on the device are severely limited.

Last but not least, I would like to mention the integrated Bluetooth speaker. To use this, you have to connect a cell phone to the projector. This is quite easy via Bluetooth, and there is a button on the back for the connection. Control is also possible via the buttons on the back of the device. Likewise, the speaker can be controlled with the remote control since was very simple. Only the sound quality is not optimal. At least it is not as high quality as it is advertised.

Summary: All in all, the projection as well as the functions of the encalife Ambience convinced me. They create a very good atmosphere in the room. Only the speaker could be of higher quality.

Quality

I can’t say anything negative about the encalife Ambience Galaxy & Star Projector in terms of quality. It is true that the projector does not look too valuable at first. This is primarily due to the very low weight since the device is mostly made of plastic. However, this first impression is not confirmed. Instead, the encalife Ambience is very cleanly manufactured and does not have any flaws, at least not in my model.

Service / Warranty

I could not find any information about the warranty on encalife. I find that a bit unfortunate – especially in view of the quite high price of the product. However, the manufacturer grants a 30-day return policy. If you don’t like the projector, you can return it up to 30 days after purchase.

In my experience, encalife’s service is very good. I have always received an answer to my email inquiries within a few hours.

Price Performance

As already mentioned in the introduction, the Galaxy projector was provided to me free of charge by the manufacturer for the test. According to the manufacturer’s website, the RRP for the encalife Ambience is $119.97. However, it is available with a discount of around 50% most of the time. Thus, the effective price is $59.97.

The discounts on the site are often displayed with a randomly long, expiring timer. You should not be put off by this, as the discount is almost always there. Here I don’t think it’s good that such unserious price tricks are used.

Nevertheless, I would rate the price-performance ratio as “Good”. The projector is one of the more expensive starry sky projectors on the market. However, the quality and especially the ease of use justify the price, in my opinion.
